It's not running, but still.. I biked the MS150 a few years ago, a bike charity ride from Cherry Hill NJ to Ocean City in support of the MS Society of Philadelphia. Along the route, in the middle of nowhere South Jersey were entire families with signs saying "thank you." A dude in a wheel-chair held a sign that read "You are my hero." Right before I saw him, I was ready to give up. I think I was 50 miles into the ride and it was flat, boring, and hot. His sign made me choke up and keep pushing. I love you, race/ride watchers.
